imissedtumblr: I bought apple fritters today! Apple fritters are not on Wikipedia’s list of “controversial doughnut-related items”!  Which means I am eating donuts!  Om nom nom.  Om nom. om.  (They are not baby-flavoured.) Cookie Monster is probably disappointed in me, but that just means more cookies for him! FUCK YEAH APPLE FRITTERS. I almost bought a fritter today. But then I bought a...

Inaugural Wheelchair Trip: the review!
So, I just went down to the Wendy’s and Tim Hortons nearby to get a burger and a doughnut, as I earlier said I was planning to. I took my chair! Here are my observations, in point form. My arms are sore, but I expected this, as it’s a group of muscles being used in a new way. I expect this to improve with time. It took a fair bit longer than walking, but again, this was expected. I...

Oh yeah
meloukhia: I’ve also written about the commercial appropriation of campaigns for body acceptance, too! So yeah.  It’s not that I have a monopoly on these topics, but when I see people lifting wholesale phrasing and ideas from my work, making it painfully evident that they’ve read it, and they don’t drop me a link, I get pissy. Crosslinking, in addition to being a really good idea if you don’t...

Rachael Ray's Late-Night Bacon Recipe →
The gold is in the reviews: I didn’t know how to put the bacon in the microwave, so instead I held it up to the door and heated on high for 5 minutes. My bacon was not cooked. I used the right amount of paper towels and everything. It was late, and I was hungry, so I ate a tub of frosting instead. Next time I am going to put the bacon on top of the microwave. Maybe that will work. Any...

TUMBLR I AM BACK TUMBLR HOORAY I AM BACK
AND I MISSED YOU. I, uh…a lot of stuff happened this week! I’m going to give it to you in point form, because that is how I am. The day I left Guelph, my wheelchair got here! Too late for me to see it, but I saw it tonight and it is AWESOME. Pictures will happen, don’t worry. Conference is going great so far.
But Internet is (as I thought might be he case) a little hard to find. Using my friend’s iPhone at the moment. Typos are due to my gigantic thumbs. The 20 days of Sondheim will resume on Sunday when I get home. Also you can then expect PHOTOS OF MY WHEELCHAIR, which has apparently arrived!

Today I am off to the Canadian Universities Queer Services Conference! I will probably have internet access at the hotel I am staying at, but I will probably be online less. I’m gonna do my best to keep the 20 days of Sondheim going and at least semi-keep-up with other folks’ postings, but I make no guarantees. None. Zero.

The Slanted Playing Field
squashed: Monopoly is a good game for libertarians. Everybody starts out in the same spot. The rules are clear and understandable. There’s a lot of luck—but enough skill that you can feel good about winning. And it’s just a game. We don’t need to shed any tears for the losers. To succinctly demonstrate my problems with the libertarian view, let’s change one rule. The player with the wealthiest...
